Fall Happenings in the Art Room

Happy Fall to everyone!  All Golden Hill Eagles have been busy eagles exploring a variety of media in the art room.  Here's a photo gallery and brief explanation of what all our PAX Eagles have been learning. Kindergarten:  PHEW!  Ask your littles about all the hard work their hands and fingers had to do to create these amazing paper bag Fall inspired trees.  We studied the parts of a tree and exhausted our finger muscles while twisting and TWISTING to create these lovely work of art!!!! Here are a few pictures of our fall art lesson using materials from nature.  I introduced our Kindergartners to the artist Andrew Goldsworthy who creates art with and out in nature.   Students had the opportunity to leaf print and explore building a temporary piece of art with pieces of nature collected from the beach.   Grade One:  ROY G BIV! Golden Hill PAX Leaders

TOOT  TOOT #2 Last weeks class TOOTLE was awarded to Ms. Onoforo's Fourth grade class!  This group of students has been playing the PAX behavior game, focusing on using self control while painting and clean up in the art room.  It has been a challenge, but their hard work and perseverance paid off as they were on the mark this week and PAX'd it up in my classroom!  TOOT    TOOT #1 I  am excited to award my first all class TOOTLE!  I am so proud to be a part of the Golden Hill Team and implementing the PAX behavior program in my art classroom.  Our Golden Hill school is working hard to all become PAX leaders.  A TOOTLE is a shout out to an individual or class that has demonstrated self control and set good examples of how to be positive role models for others. January Mystery Artist of the Month

Hello Golden Hill Eagles!  It is time for our NEXT  Mystery Artist of the Month   challenge.  Below you will find a few clues about this month's artist and some examples of their art.  With the help of an adult, research the clues and look at the examples of the artist original works below.  When you think you have the name of the artist put the following information on a piece of paper and send it in with your child: Artist name Your child's name Child's teacher and grade Place the guess in the envelope on the Artist of the Month bulletin board outside of my classroom.  One winner with the correct guess will be chosen at the end of the month.
